About the Chairman
Mr. Chinnadurai, a highly respected visionary with multifarious social interests, established Sri Kumaran Charitable Trust in the year 2007 with the objective of providing educational opportunity and training to deserving students in nursing care and serving social causes.
Being a Keen observer, he had identified the woefully inadequate paramedical professional available in health care industries. As a corollary ,he started “sri kumaran school of Nursing” Institution to offer Dip. In General Nursing and Midwifery Course, with a missionaryZeal.
The School of Nursing has parent hospital in the name ‘Sri Kumaran Health Centre (P) Ltd. at Retteri Junction, Kolathur, Chennai. The various departments available are Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, Pediatric, Orthopaedic, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatric, Maternity, Infertility, Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, oncology and so on. And also available ICCU, Casualty, Physiotherapy, Pathology & Bio Chemistry laboratory, Chest clinic, Operation theaters, Dental unit, Dermatology, Well women clinic, Pharmacy and Ambulance service at round the clock.
The School of Nursing also has tie-up with private hospitals and research centres in Chennai. The purpose of this program is to enable the students to get a broader vision of nursing care and get immediate placement with high salary in India and abroad.
Through Sri Kumaran School of Nursing, We have extended our Educational Services by offering 3 years Dip. in General Nursing and Midwifery approved bv Indian & Tamilnadu Nursing Council and the Government of Tamilnadu (G.O. MS: 22 / dated: 13-01-2012). Our Campus is located at Redhills, Chennai on the National Highways and well connected by road to Chennai and all other district headquarters in the state. Being situated in a sere ne atmosp here, it offers an ideal environment for providing quality higher education.
The Infrastructure have been meticulously planned to accommodate students with spacious, well ventilated classrooms with comfortable seating arrangements, discussion halls, auditorium with the latest audio – Visual teaching ads and a continuously Updated library with a large volume of on temporary titles.

Our faculty members are well qualified professors and tutors in all the specialities. They are excellent in imparting best education and training as prescribed by the nursing council. They help our students to compere at National and International levels in terms of knowledge and skills in the subjects they get educated.
Library
The spacious and well-equipped library boasts of a voluminous collection of more than 2000 books. journals, and periodicals on an array of subjects. A separate facility for accessing e-journals is also available. Many International journals are also available.
Hostel Facilities
One of the advantages of the Institute is that the hostel is within the campus. It has hygienic and fully furnished rooms and dormitories. An in house canteen that serves vegetarian and non vegetarian food.

The Institutional buses are available for students to provide practical exposure in the hospitals.
Placement Services
Placement we have a separate placement cell to organize campus interview during the programme and Students, after completion of the course are expected to do two years on the job clinical exposure, after successful completion of the course, Students 100% will be inducted in Domestic & International Hospitals after completion of the study.

Courses of Studies
The courses of 3.5 years duration, On successful completion of the course a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is awarded by the Government of Tamil Nadu Board for Nursing Education recognized by the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council & Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.

Eligibility
- A pass in HSC (10+2) / PDC with science or any other subjects with a minimum aggregate of 40% or its equivalent thereto.
- Unmarried or married female candidates are eligible with the age of 17 to 35 years.
- Duration of Course: 3A
The number of applicant’s only female candidates aspiring for nursing increased the demand for nurses in India and abroad. Our sanctioned Intake at present is 20.
Mode of Admission
1. Interview and Selection:
There will be written tests in English, General Knowledge, Science and Basic Mathematics. The candidate should obtain at least 60% in the written test. There will also be a personal interview to assess the candidate’s proficiency in English and other areas.
2. Medical fitness:
If the candidate has passed in the interview he/she has to undergo the medical examination by doctors in Sri Retteri kumaran Health Centre (P) Ltd, Retteri Junction, Chennai, to assess the health and general fitness.
Note: The decision of the selection committee will be final. No recommendation, written orverall will be accepted.
Admission Procedure
The application and prospectus may be obtained from the administration office by paying cash/DD/MO. of Rs. 150/- (Non Refundable). DD in favour of “Sri Kumaran Charitable Trust” payable at chennai, should be addressed to The principal, Sri kumaran school of Nursing, 129 bypass Road, Redhills. Near kamakshi amman temple, Chennai-600 052.
Application should enclose the following documents along with the dully filled in application form:-
Attested 3 photo copies of SSLC Mark List, HSC Mark list, Transfer certificate, community certificate, Income certificate, Nativity certificate and Extra curricular certificates etc.
Ten copies of recent passport size photograph.
Medical certificate (to be produced at the time of admission)
